Gerard Houllier will become the new manager of Aston Villa this week after Martin O’Neill decided that last season was his last as Aston Villa manager, a move that shocked not only the players but the fans too.
Houllier is no stranger to the English game having previously managed Liverpool to victories within a number of English based cups.
The reasoning that the manager has not taken charge yet is due to the fact that the manager requires clearance from the French Football Association before he is able to take up his throne at the club and we can expect to see a vast amount of alterations to be made to the club, including the training and dedication requirements from the players.
Houllier has already spoke to the media to reveal possible transfer targets that will be brought into the club in a bid to improve their standing within the English game and he is more than confident that the board will be there to stand alongside him as he offers the fees required to capture some of the targets that he has in mind.
A new manager entering into a club during the season is never something that any football club wants to experience but Houllier is sure that he can hit the ground running and steer the club in the right direction to increase their winning percentage.
Views from the changing room show that the players are looking forward to working with Houllier following his indication to improve the team and help to improve the clubs chances of competing within the top 6 of the Premier League.
We will be watching his every move very closely during his first few months and will be sure to cover any story that we feel needs the be brought into the public eye, giving you the chance to keep up to date on what the former Liverpool manager has instore for the club.
