Eric Cantona returns to football in MLS
Manchester United’s legendary French striker Eric Cantona became responsible for the soccer team of the U.S. New York Cosmos.
The Cosmos Club stated that Eric Cantona who retired from football in 1997 will be responsible for the professional football team. Cantona said in a statement that, “The Cosmos, is a club so strong, with a major history, similar to the combination of football and art”. Cobie Jones the former national American football player will be Cantona’s helper.
Cosmos team became active between 1971-1985 in the North American Soccer League and included squad players such as Pele and Franz Beckenbauer. Back into operation under the name of the New York Cosmos hopes to be the 20th team playing for First Division (MLS). The team currently does not have a stadium to play matches.
