The River was set out to be one of ABC’s most promising thriller, but the premiere didn’t really go as well as the company had thought and ended up with a pretty modest start.
The River, which is created by Oren Peli and Michael R Perry (both were director and writer of Paranormal Activity) came to an ironic end of an evening after the 2 hour premiere.
The drama took the viewer into an adventure right inside the Amazon jungle, when a mother (Tess) and son (Lincoln) go out on a quest to find their husband/father (Dr. Emmet Cole) who is a high ranked naturalist who hosted a show called “The Undiscovered Country” wthat runs on the moto “There’s magic out there.”.
In the story, Tess and Lincoln both receive some support financially to get set for their journey, the person who gives the two the financial support is a TV producer who goes by the name, Paul Blackthorne, who wants to make a documentary about the trip. Us, as the audience, view the series through this perspective, a documentary perspective.
